Canada is 142 years old today.  Wow!  Pretty good, I'd say.  For a nation of only 33 million (the pop of California, I think), we've sure done some wonderful things for the world (eg. penicillian, Canadarm, peacekeeping, multiculturalism, hockey, basketball, maple syrup, ski-doos, Dr. Rodney McKay :p ).  It reallly is simply amazing to me that a simple maple leaf can be so recognised around the world.  We may not be as splashy as the Americans or as "upper-chinned" as the Brits, but we don't need to be.  We know who we are and I, for one, am grateful for every day that I get to live here.

OMG!  Squeee central right here!  DH is coming to Polaris (www.tcon.ca) this year for the Constellation Awards (which I think he might win) and you have no idea how utterly, completely, and totally excited I am about this prospect.  I just love DH as an actor and to meet him, after all the wonderful things I've heard about him at other cons and in person, is well, just about the best thing I could hope for right now.  He's coming for two days, with two autograph and photo sessions.  And then Chicago in August to meet Flanigan and McGillion, well, I'd say that this is going to be the summer of ArtemisPrime :D

I have a Mazda 3 (aka "My Baby") and I love it.  It's small, fast and most importantly, a manual transmission.  For the last two months, I've had to drive something that isn't my Mazda 3.

Happy Winter Solstice everyone.  It's likely one of my favourtie days of the year.  From here on out for the next six months, the days get longer.  Yippee!  And with all the snow we've received, it really does feel like winter.  Yippee!
